In this upcoming primary, you have the chance to choose who will likely be the State Senators for two Southern California districts. The 23rd and 21st State Senate districts are solidly Democratic districts. While there are good pro-gun rights candidates running for these seats in other parties, let's be honest; none of them are going to win in November. The race is really between the four Democrats and they are not appealing at all. None of these candidates have shown any respect for your Second Amendment rights. However, these candidates are not identical.
In the 21st Senate district, the choice for Democratic voters is between
Assembly members Jack Scott
and Scott Wildman
. Wildman
is no friend of gun owners and is a solidly F-rated candidate, but it's Jack
Scott who is actively promoting anti-gun bills. Jack Scott was the one
sponsoring gun registration and owner licensing during this last session. Had
his bill passed, you can be sure that confiscation of your guns would soon
follow! If Democrats select Jack Scott as their candidate, then the 21st
district will have a Senator sponsoring new anti-gun bills and pushing the
extremist agenda of Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and HCI.
The same Hobson's Choice exists in the 23rd district between Wally Knox
and Sheila James-Kuehl
.
Kuehl has voted for gun control legislation on a number of occasions. She's an
F-rated candidate in every NRA candidate survey as is Knox. However, she has never
sponsored an anti-gun bill. Knox, on the other hand, has sponsored several
truly bad bills, including the "one gun a month" law to ration your
liberty. He's so proud of his hostility towards your gun rights, that he's using
his fringe, anti-gun record in his campaign mailings. If Knox wins, your
district will be represented by someone who will work to eliminate your
Constitutional right to own a firearm. If Kuehl wins, we will have someone in
office who, while they are not friendly to gun owners, isn't actively working to
end your rights.
Democrats in the 21st and 23rd Senate districts have a choice between to garden variety anti-gun democrats, and two dangerous, anti-gun zealots. This is your chance to tell your party that you're sick of their anti-gun extremism. This is your chance to tell them to respect all of the articles of the Bill of Rights. Personally, I'm a registered Republican and thus I can't vote in these races...
But wait a minute...
California has an open primary law!
Heh, heh, heh...
I guess that I should re-title this letter.
