Another fine Feinstein whine...

Sen. Dianne Feinstein bemoans the fate of her "assault weapon" ban. The ban's chances are fading fast. Of interest is the mention that she's still trying to attach the ban, like a legislative leech, to some other bill. If the ban is as popular as she claims, then would it not be prudent to have a stand-alone bill? (And on a related matter, if the ban is so popular, then why is she predicting that streets will be "flooded" with "assault weapons" come Setp. 14? If the ban is so popular, and the guns so unpopular, then what drives this market demand she sees?) Also of note is DiFi's claim that she isn't out to seize all of our guns. She says that the fact that pre-ban guns are still legal is proof of this. This is also the same woman who said: "If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them, Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in, I would have done it."

So which DiFi do we believe? The one who says that "assault weapons" are loathed by the American People and ought to be banned? Or the one who says that the American People love them so much that we'd all rush right out and buy one, and ought to be banned? Do we believe the DiFi who says she does want to seize all guns? Or the one who says "Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in"?
