The Left is obsessed with reviving the ban. Some are just being politically smart. While the President has voiced support for the ban, he hasn't shown any support for the expanded versions that have been floating around. The majority of ban supporters, however, are true believers; they've drank the Kool-aid. These are the ones that will cost John Kerry votes. Gun control killed Algore's presidential hopes. They can finish off Kerry's too. He's smartly avoided giving the issue any more than lip service. The Kool-aid drinkers may yet drag him into the abyss.
