Dix redux redux redux

In a third trial, an Alameda County jury has cleared Beretta, USA of wrongdoing in the accidental shooting death of 14-year old Kenzo Dix. This is yet another in a long list of cases the anti-gun lobby has lost against legal gun makers.

Suing a manufacturer because their product works is ridiculous.

Suing a manufacturer because their product works is ridiculous.

Suing a manufacturer because their product works is ridiculous.

Yes, we apparently needed to say that three times.

A product that performs as-advertised is simply not defective. Guns are designed to expel projectiles at high velocities; it's what they do. When a loaded pistol is left where a child can find it, the gun does not know to become defective and not fire. It performs its design function. The pistol that killed Kenzo worked. Beretta is not responsible for his death; the gun's owner is. The State of California already has safe-storage laws on teh books to address this issue. This lawsuit, all three incarnations of it, was unnecessary.
