Social values and the election

Wayne LaPierre cites gun-owning union members as part of George Bush's winning coalition on Tuesday. You can read more in this article on social conservatives and their role in the election. "Values" were named by many voters as their reason for voting for Bush rather than Kerry. The tendency of many Democratic movers and shakers to see those in fly-over country as a bunch of gun-totin', Bible-thumpin' rednecks didn't help their cause on Tuesday. John Kerry's hunting costume didn't fix the problem either.
